About Declutter Scout

Declutter Scout started in Lagos with a simple frustration: some of the best second-hand deals in Nigeria are posted on Instagram declutter pages, but finding them means following dozens of accounts, scrolling past stories, and DMing to ask “how much?” and “where is it?”.

We built a directory that does the scrolling for you. Every day we look through posts from established declutter sellers, note the price, condition and area, and put them in one searchable place. When you find something you like, we send you straight to the seller's original Instagram post.

What we are, and what we are not

We are a discovery and research tool for buyers. Declutter Scout doesn't sell items or handle payments between buyers and sellers. We don't hold stock, take commission on sales or act as an escrow. Your agreement is always with the seller.

How we choose sellers

We only collect from accounts that have a visible history of real declutter sales: consistent posting, genuine comments from buyers, and clear contact details. Many are verified by Instagram. If a page gets credible scam reports, we pause it.

Why it matters

Buying used keeps good furniture and electronics out of landfill and saves families real money at a time when new prices keep climbing. We want that market to be easier and safer to use.
